Lose Some Gain Some

Had been thinking about things over the last weekend... 3 months had passed and yes... I have gotten over ** but there is still a tiny weeny bit in me that tells me that ** still affect me in a minute way....

Anyway I have come to realise that in life, you lose some you gain some....I may have lost **, but I have gained ALOT more, e.g. new friendships of Mark, Sandy and Beatrice, thanks to Clara haha... oh ya, they are extremely nice and fun people :) , gotten closer to my family and having care, concern and support from close friends :)

Thanks Clara and "brather" Gary, for being there for me most of the time when I was down and not forgetting Victor and Ee-lynn for their support during work :) Of cos I have not forgotten the rest of my friends who had been there for me during this dark period, however I can't possibly list everyone right? (if not I would be like saying some congratutory speech at a Grammy Award ceremony haha). THANKS GUYS!!

Guess I'm more or less over **.... Oh, came across this song which I have been listening over and over again because the lyrics is soooooooo me haha

You'll Think Of Me - Keith Urban

I woke up early this morning around 4am
With the moon shining bright as headlights on the interstate
I pulled the covers over my head and tried to catch some sleep
But thoughts of us kept keeping me awake
Ever since you found yourself in someone else's arms
I've been tryin' my best to get along
But that's OK
There's nothing left to say, but
Take your records, take your freedom
Take your memories I don't need'em
Take your space and take your reasons
But you'll think of me
And take your cap and leave my sweater
'Cause we have nothing left to weather
In fact I'll feel a whole lot better
But you'll think of me, you'll think of me
I went out driving trying to clear my head
I tried to sweep out all the ruins that my emotions left
I guess I'm feeling just a little tired of this
And all the baggage that seems to still exist
It seems the only blessing I have left to my name
Is not knowing what we could have been
What we should have been So
Take your records, take your freedom
Take your memories I don't need'em
Take your space and take your reasons
But you'll think of me
And take your cap and leave my sweater
'Cause we have nothing left to weather
In fact I'll feel a whole lot better
But you'll think of me
Someday I'm gonna run across your mind
Don't worry, I'll be fine
I'm gonna be alright
While you're sleeping with your pride
Wishing I could hold you tight
I'll be over you
And on with my life
So take your records, take your freedom
Take your memories I don't need'em
And take your cap and leave my sweater
'Cause we have nothing left to weather
In fact I'll feel a whole lot better
But you'll think of me
So take your records, take your freedom
Take your memories I don't need'em
Take your space and all your reasons
But you'll think of me
And take your cap and leave my sweater
'Cause we got nothing left to weather
In fact I'll feel a whole lot better
But you'll think of me, you'll think of me, yeah
And you're gonna think of me
Oh someday baby, someday

Bittersweet Revenge

S is enjoying... totally enjoying.... and indulging in his bittersweet revenge... After months of heartache and despair, the revenge came timely and proved to be invigorating for S...

The idea of "tit for tat" worked pretty well for S and it is definately in line with his philosophy of "if people treat S good, S will treat people better and if people treat S shabbily, S makes sure people learn the true meaning of hell"...... Indeed... and it was just the beginning of the "game"....

You may regard S as a spiteful, malicious person and may think that revenge begets revenge..... but think again..... how much did S really went through? Right now, S is merely letting ** have a taste of the medicine.....Not too much to ask for right?

S just want ** to know that he is not the carpet that ** can just walk or trample on but the carpet that is capable of suffocating **.....................

The Forbidden Kingdom

It was a mad rush for me yesterday. Mark came to fetch me and Sandy to Raffles Place to meet Clara and Beatrice for gym. Attended the 740pm Bodycombat class.... Practically ran to shower after my gym as I was supposed to meet my brother to catch a 920pm show, "The Forbidden Kingdom" at Vivocity!! Well, you can imagine how rush it was for me....However, come to think of it, it was worth the rush. Don't be mistaken that I was referring to how fantastic the show was (well in actual fact it was just mediocre) but the fact that it had been a long long time since my brother and I went out together. :)

The Forbidden Kingdom

From a philosophical viewpoint it is fitting that the inaugural movie unites the two martial arts legends Jackie Chan and Jet Li. However, I feel it is a fantasy film for young teenagers or rather, just another film out to cheat Ang Mos' $$..............Hey, imagine the deities speaking in English!!! OMG!!!! The worse part is.... the story of "Sun WuKong" was brutally distorted.....
On the hindsight, the movie did had its good points. The computer graphics were fantastic and the show featured several scenic places.
Erm... for those who intend to catch this show, I recommend that you watch this on a weekday as it is not worth the $$ to catch it on weekends. Lucky I did not have to pay for the movie as I had tickets to "The Forbidden kingdom" Gala Premiere hehe :p

Touch My Body for 4 Minutes and then Stop & Stare

Before you start to think the title of my post remotely resembles that of a porn show, I got to clarify that the title is just a combination of 3 song titles which I have been listening to recently... Extracts of the lyrics are "in sequence" for a reason. Enjoy...........

Touch My Body - Mariah Carey

Touch my body
Put me on the floor
Wrestle me around
Play with me some more
Touch my body
Throw me on the bed
I just wanna make you feel
Like you never did.
Touch my body
Let me wrap my thighs
All around your waist
Just a little taste
Touch my body
Know you love my curves
Come on and give me what I deserve
And touch my body.

4 Minutes - Madonna & Justin Timberlake

Hold Hold up Hold up
Slow slow down
Listen give me 10 minutes...
Well gimme 5 minutes.....
before you leave I just need these last 4 minutes...
Pardon me if I'm talking fast and stumbling all over my words
I heard you were leavin' town I thought I'd be the one to know first
If you have a minute let me talk to you and see what's going on
Don't say it's nothing when it's gotta be something that's gone wrong
Now let me explain but I don't know what to say cause I don't know what the hell happened
I come in the house to try to work it out and all you're doing is packing
Close your suitcase let me think straight
Damn what could be the reason?
Baby talk me I'm almost outta time

Stop & Stare - One Republic

’This town is colder now, I think it’s sick of us
It’s time to make our move, I’m shakin off the rust
I’ve got my heart set on anywhere but here
I’m staring down myself, counting up the years
Steady hands, just take the wheel...
And every glance is killing me
Time to make one last appeal... for the life I lead
Stop and stare
I think I’m moving but I go nowhere
Yeah I know that everyone gets scared
But I’ve become what I can’t be, oh
Stop and stare
You start to wonder why you’re ’here’ not there
And you’d give anything to get what’s fair
But fair ain’t what you really need
Oh, can u see what I see
They’re tryin to come back, all my senses push
Un-tie the weight bags, I never thought I could...
Steady feet, don’t fail me now
Gonna run till you can’t walk
But something pulls my focus out
And I’m standing down...

Pasta Brava

Went Pasta Brava (located at 11 Craig Road, Tanjong Pagar) with Victor, Maggie and Ee-lynn last Friday. Victor treated us dinner as a celebration for his promotion! Heh :)

Italian restaurant with an "old-school" feel

Woo hoo.... salad!!

Seafood soup.... taste great but... looks complicated as there were too much "goodies" packed in a small bowl

My main course..... ta dah..... dory!!! yeah!!!!

Oh the desserts were really out-of-this-world man, especially the tiramisu... Yum yum!!

Overall, the food and ambience was fantastic. However the price was abit steep, BUT its ok as it was Victor's treat wahahahah :p Stanley gives Pasta Brava a 4 out of 5 stars!!

Rose Veranda, Shang-Ri-La

Met up with Gary for high-tea at Rose Veranda, Shang-Ri-La Hotel. Quite liked the place as Shang-Ri-La is away from the bustling city and maddening crowd. Had a great time chatting, feasting and also "appreciating" tea. Gosh... did I mention Rose Veranda actually have more than 100 selections of tea for us to choose from? Wow..... "Atas" living for me huh? hahaha :p

The interior of Rose Veranda

Gary enjoying his caramel tea, erm... which I find it to taste more like "teh O" haha :p

Oh ya.... forgot to mention that they actually had 20 over cheeses for diners to choose from.... wow...... and according to Gary, Blue Cheese stinks like hell but it is very nutritious haha

Me taking a break from the food and cam-whoring :p

Well Rose Veranda is quite a nice place and food is great. The only drawback is that the selection of food is rather limited. If only their selection of food is as awesome as their selection of tea, well that will be great!! Haha

The Ugliness Of Mortals

Was on the way to meet Gary for high-tea at Shang-ri-la Hotel yesterday. Took a train down to Orchard. Witnessed an unforgetable incident that protrayed the ugly side of human nature.

Ok try to picture this scenario.... I was standing in a crowded train. Two guys were sitting together on those two-seater seats.... When the train reached Dhoby Gaut station and the train door opened, an Indian lady shoved her way into the train, pulling her kid... They stood just in front of the two guys. The next thing that happened was beyond my imagination!! That disgusting, highly obnoxious Indian lady pushed her kid IN-BETWEEN the two guys and asked her kid to sit still!!!

The poor guys were in a state of shock... One of them stood up to allow the kid to have a proper seat. However that Indian bitch grabbed that seat as if her life depended on it and sat down happily, with her kid still seated IN-BETWEEN her and the other poor chap.....

I stared in total disbelief!! At first I thought perhaps it was the motherly instinct which sub-conciously drove that bitch to commit such atrocious act. However, her actions proved otherwise.... She was greedy for the seat herself..... I really wondered if her parents ever taught her to be gracious and courteous to at least ask politely if she could have the seat. Maybe she didnt even went school or had proper education before.... Eww~~~. Furthermore her actions were such a bad influence to her kid.... What if her kid grew up to be like her? Gosh~~~~

Can't wait to alight at Orchard to meet Gary and tell him what i saw man.....

Unwell

All day
Staring at the ceiling
Makin' friends with shadows on my wall
All night
Hearing voices telling me that I should get some sleep
Because tomorrow might be good for something
Hold on
Feeling like I'm headed for a breakdown and I don't know why
Well I'm not crazy
I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you can't tell
But stay a while and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy
I'm just a little impaired
I know, right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be
Me, talking to myself in public
And dodging glances on the train
And I knowI know they've all been talkin' bout me
I can hear them whisper
And it makes me think that there must be
Something wrong with me
Out of all the hours thinkin
Somehow I've lost my mind

Far From The Maddening Crowd

Singapore is overcrowded... It seems that there is not much space for every individual... To prove my point, try throwing a stone out randomly and probably more than 1 person will be hit....

Do you realise that wherever you go, there are always people, people and more people. To make things worse, I happen to be the majority who work office hours. Everyday when i go to work, I will feel like I'm fighting a battle. A battle against fellow commuters. Fighting to get onto the MRT. Fighting to have a space, even to stand, on the train. Fighting to get onto the escalators. There are also occasions where I even need to fight to get into the lift!! Whoever dictates that office hours start at 8am ought to be hung!!

Erm... the ordeal is not over yet... Everytime, during lunch, you will see herds and herds of office life-forms jostling for seats at the eateries, food courts etc....When it is finally time to report off from work, the entire population in Sinagpore seems to report off at the same time with you and then what you have experienced in the morning will repeat itself......

That's not all.... as with all office staff, we have our off days on the weekends.... Gosh.... that means more jostling for people who wishes to step out of their house. Check out the horrendous situation in Orchard on weekends and you will know what I mean.

Singapore is overcrowded and I really mean severely overcrowed. God knows when a major stampede will happen in Singapore man.... Gosh I think I need to get away...far far away from the maddening crowd... in order to safeguard my sanity and to seek peace..... Phew~~~~

Club Street

Met up with Wendy for dinner yesterday. Went Red Dot Traffic and settled ourselves comfortably at our seats at Boulevard. When we were about to place our orders, the waiter sheepishly told us that the dinner menu was not available for weekends and that we could only order drinks!! Imagine the disappointment faced by us!! It was like taking away candles and joss sticks from the hungry ghosts who were released during the Seventh Month, thinking that they could have a feast on Earth... Eww~~~.

Famished, tired and disappointed, we practically "crawled" our way outta Red Dot Traffic, searching frantically for food. Stupid Wendy still had the audacity to insist that she wanted to eat pasta and nothing else!! Grr.....! Oh well, I eventually gave in to her, firstly, as she is my sis and secondly, I do not wish my evening to be any worse off. *(Wendy, don't kill me if you happen to read this. haha)*

Made our way to Club Street and found our "ray of hope". Settled down at this restaurant called Spizza. Finally we had our dinner there. Awww~~~. Food and ambience was nice. Didn't regret making our long, torturous way there man haha :P

Interior of Spizza

Both of us ordered Pasta Marinara. YumYum!!

Unconditional Love

Came across a story, which I had read some time back but was resurfaced to me again by a colleague from the "parent" organisation. Thought it is quite a meaningful and touching story so I think I will share with you guys, even though I think some of you might have read that before. :)

This is a true story that happened in Japan.

In order to renovate the house, someone in Japan breaks open the wall.
Japanese houses normally have a hollow space between the wooden walls. When tearing down the walls, he found that there was a lizard stuck there because a nail from outside hammered into one of its feet. He sees this, feels pity, and at the same time curious, as when he checked the nail, it was nailed 10 years ago when the house was first built. The lizard has survived in such position for 10 years! In a dark wall partition for 10 years without moving, it is impossible and mind-boggling. Then he wondered how this lizard survived for 10years without moving a single step--since its foot was nailed! So he stopped his work and observed the lizard, what it has been doing, and what and how it has been eating. Later, not knowing from where it came, appears another lizard, with food in its mouth. Ah! He was stunned and touched deeply. For the lizard that was stuck by nail, another lizard has been feeding it for the past 10 years... Imagine? it has been doing that untiringly for 10 long years, without giving up hope on its partner.

Food for thought:

Think, will u do that to your partner?
Think, will you do it to your Mom,who brought you after a big struggle of nearly TEN long months?
Or at least to your Dad, Friends, Co-workers, brothers and Sisters?

Imagine what a small creature can do that a creature blessed with abrilliant mind can't..
As information and communication technology advances, our access to information becomes faster and faster. But the distance between human beings . . . is it getting closer as well? As for now, I don’t think so…

Please treasure what you have and never abandon your loved ones.
